📖 Tournament story
In the Kingdom of Chess, two wise kings discovered a secret move: together with their trusted rook, they can make a "castling" move – swap places in a single move, like lightning!
"Short castling" quickly takes them to safety, while "long castling" is a brave leap across the whole castle. But be careful: no king can castle if it has been put in check or if it passes through a dangerous path.
Now, all the knights of the kingdom are challenged to use this special move in their own games. Who will prove they know how to defend their kingdom with style and intelligence?

📅 When and how?
Weekend tournament (Saturday and Sunday, between 10:00–14:00)

Location: Tournament Hall, Kingdom of Chess (online, on the platform)

Registration: individually or with the class / chess club
Fee: Free for heroes on the platform (includes diploma, sticker for the child)

Through this tournament, your child will not only improve their chess skills, but also develop patience, planning, and respect for rules and opponents. Castling is one of the few special moves in chess – by mastering it, your child takes a big step toward advanced chess thinking.

Every king deserves a safe castle, and every child – a chance to shine.

Mandatory conditions:

The king and the rook have not moved before in the game.
There are no pieces between them.
The king is not in check now, does not pass through an attacked square, and does not end up in check.
In the tournament, children receive extra points if they correctly perform a castling move during the game (even if they lose the game, they receive a "courage point").

Thinking time: 10–15 minutes per player per game (for beginners – without time pressure).

👧👦 Who is it for?
All levels – from beginners (who have learned the moves) to advanced players.
Recommended age: 6–14 years old (but parents can also play alongside, in a special "Family" section).
Tournament type: Weekend tournament – Saturday and Sunday, 3–5 rounds per day.

📜 Simple rules (for children)
Short castling – the king moves two squares toward the rook, and the rook jumps over the king, next to it (on the right side of the board).
Long castling – the king moves two squares to the left, and the rook jumps over the king, ending up next to it (on the left side).

🤝 Fair play – The Knight's Code
We shake hands before and after the game.
We do not talk when the other player is thinking.
If we make a wrong move, we politely tell our partner.
We congratulate the opponent for a beautiful castling move.
Parents and coaches encourage from the stands, without giving instructions.
